Athena, the Motel’s namesake, is the Greek Goddess of wisdom, war, courage, reason, inspiration, strength, arts and craft. She was exceedingly beautiful and was the daughter of Zeus.
Athena was fierce and brave in battle and defended her state and home from outside enemies. She was known, however, to only fight for just reasons and would not fight without a purpose.
A stunning depiction of Athena hangs in the restaurant at the motel. This original and ‘one of a kind’ artwork has been especially drawn for Athena Motel Apartments by local renowned artist Betty Goldie.
